O.T. Anyone want a Ford Flathead + Trans?

Sorry...Off Topic item for sale.
I have a late model flathead for sale. I was told that it was a "more desireable" flathead due to the year. It was sitting in a 34 Ford but does not run. It looks like someone was preparing to get it to run. It may be locked...I don't know.
Also, there is a transmission with it. I was told that it is a pre 40' trans. It may be a 1934.
My dad and I are asking $500 for the setup. I'll try to attach some pictures.
Does anyone know where else we could sell this?

I wish I was closer. I want one for an old rail racecar I bought. Either a flathead or an old hemi. I haven't found anything around here yet.

kxmotox247- Could you post the letters/numbers that are cast into the middle of the cylinder head(I can't quite read it in the pic...). This number is a ballpark way of telling the year of the motor and whether or not it is a Merc. or Ford flatty(providing heads weren't swapped. I believe there also may be a casting number on the back of the block on the integral bellhousing if you can read that. Also, I can't tell from the pic either, is the distributor there? On a pre 48 motor, it will be on the front of the block(similar to the late model Chevy LT-1's) inbetween the waterpumps/motor mounts. On the 49-53 motors, it will be on an angle coming out of the front/top of the block.

The tranny is definitely pre-40. The last year for a toploader in the pass. car was 39.

The 34 looks to be in nice shape, especially for an open car. Good luck!!!!

MAC67- Depending on what the motor is determines what they are worth. Generally, you can't go wrong with either an 8BA flatty from a 49+ Ford. The Merc flatty's were popular with the rodders in the old days(more powerfull than the Ford flatty). The 40-48 Merc flatheads are popular motors also. The old 21 stud flatheads are getting hard to find and some are bringing a premium. One thing to be carefull of with them is the blocks tend to crack. Unless you can get them DIRT cheap, it would prob. be best to leave em' there.

this fellas an ex old gasser racer , i already got all the 392 hemis out , those sold like a house of fire , shoulda seen what the unused mickey thompson blower intakes for a 392 went for , or the donovan clutch cans , had a couple old enderle barn door injections also , man that stuff is worth its weight in gold now

Here's what I learned about it so far. I guess it's a 8RT which is a truck motor. This is from another Ford guy:

"appears to be an 8RT engine from the heads, which is rated at 110 HP, 239 CI, 3 3/16 X 3 3/4, desirable engines because they have hardened valve seats, are otherwise mostly identical to all Ford car engines, known as 8BA's, the trans appears to be an early bird, '32-'36, they are almost a crash box, have a very poor synchro, and probally straight cut gears on low and reverse, case and top can be up-graded to more desirable gears"

I posted it for sale on a Ford Forum and have gotten more inquires about the car than the motor. I've gotten probably 30 responses. It's still available as of right now. Thanks for the info.
