New plates for my 77...

Me and my buddies tried to come up with something cool for the plates on my 77. We couldn't get anything to fit that we liked, so I went with my screen name instead. What ya think

If you haven't figured it out by now, I'm a really picky SOB. My wife says I'm anal, and I take that as a compliment. With that said, you will understand some of the things that are being done.

Who ever restored the truck did a really nice job on the paint. They cut a couple of corners on the body work, and it's coming back now. The truck had bed rails at one time, and they didn't weld the holes. They used "Kitty Hair" over them, and thought that would hold.

I can see where the holes were in certain light (my garage) and it really bugs me. They skipped over the factory spot welds on the tailgate, and there is a small spot on the passenger door that is doing wierd things too. So while it's there they are fixing that too.

I'm having some of the trim replaced, and the insert repainted so everything matches. They are installing power windows and locks and re-dyeing the some of the interior pieces.
While the bed is off, they are doing some detail work, and repainting the rear axle.

I think thats about it....for now

I hear ya man. I am pretty picky myself when it comes to bodywork. I sold my last blazer because it had a scratch and a dent when I got it back from the police. Hey, maybe if I stop being so picky I can get it painted this year.

Yeah it's an obsession that we have to deal with. Why don't you get that tub primed and bring it to Super Chevy in April. We can annoy the resto guys with my truck, and make the custom guys droll over yours.... :p

sounds like a plan, I'll have to rustle up some decent rims between now and then, but it sounds fun.

Maybe we can get Scoti, N2billet and some of the others to come along too. They are going to Dust Off since it close to home for them. I may try to go there Saturday, and hit Super Chevy on Sunday.

You need wheels? I got some sweet rallies you can use...:p What's wrong with what you have?

Good eye buddy. You are correct! That is a Wurlitzer replica of the famous Vendo 44. The graphics on it are my company logo.....

My family has been in the Jukebox / Video Game / Pinball Machine / etc... business since 1955. My uncle is the Wurlitzer Distributor for Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alaska. Another of my uncles has one of the biggest routes in Oregon. Just a whiff of windex instantly makes me think of checking out and cleaning monitors.

As for truck content, each of those uncles have five of these trucks too...

Well Joe it's a small world isn't it. I have "only" been in this business for 26 years, but my company has been around since 1952. I bought the owner out 11 years ago after working my way from the bottom to the top.

It's a getting hard to be in this industry, but you already know that...

When I first got my truck, it still had the previous owner's vanity plates... "OGSTYLE" as in Original Gangsta Style. Even now my family refers to my truck as the O.G. truck.

That’s odd I had the “OG Mobile.” I had an 89 D50 and it had Dodge on the gate and a buddy and I thought it would be clever to take off all but the O and G in Dodge.
