how do i fix it or at least slow the cancer down??

Guys, i don't have money to go and buy a new cab so, then, how do i fix this cancerous spot?

It is on the driver side where the post comes up and is at the seam where it meets the roof. After each rain i've got a good .25 inch of rain water on my dash and the winshield has the streaks dwon the edge. Take a look at the pics and you tell me!
This is my 68 C10 (if you got a cheap cab then let me know i might be able to use it)
I've got a 67 parts truck and i thought about cutting out that part of the cab and having someone weld it back in but ????? arise and i'm not sure.

You tell me!
Thanks, Sswj

Take a squirt bottle of water and determine where the water is getting in, probably either around the windshield (from your description that would seem to be the first thing to check), or from the driprail. Get the leak stopped with whatever is approriate, then think about treating the rust area to stop it from going any farther.

that's looking like more rust than you can see... that is a problem area than can involve a lot of rust above the entire windshield header... not what you wanted to hear I'm sure, but you should take a closer look at how much rust is really there....

start by poking the rusted area with a screwdriver and see if you can punch thru, both inside and outside the cab... if you can poke thru, work your way out with the screwdriver and see how much of the area has been weakened...

OK, now that I see the outside pic, it looks like a driprail problem that is then migrating down to a windshield problem. Clean and seal both areas, that should get it stopped.

well, first do the test to find out what ya got for rust, then we can make recommendations based on what you find.... I believe there's a patch panel available for the area above the windshield inside the cab, but that corner area would be a problem...

Let us know what you find... you might have to fab and patch the corner, but it's not impossible.... helps if you have a mig welder and some experience.

Rust through at the windshield piller is a ---how can I say this gently?---a killer to "fix". You can't actually get to the inner problem with the roof on, the windshield in place etc. You can clean out as much as possible and try painting it with POR15 but you can't get it to the right spots!!! My choice would be to clean and fill with lots of calking to buy time and then look for a replacement cab roof assembly as the inner patch panel is like putting a bandaid on a leaking water baloon. I have a buddy on the board---Bill---who has several rust free roof assemblies available for reasonable prices. Then you just need to find a buddy who really knows how to weld-. Cut the old one off and put a nice unrusted one on. If it is rusted through there, you can bet the rust is about to come through accross the entire inner windshield frame! Good luck.
