burn-out anyone?
Hey folks, here is a video of my truck at the 1997 Car Craft Summer Cruise burn-out contest. This is actually video of the second round, I will post the first round video pretty soon.
I actually nuked my posi, bent the bed floor, tweaked the fender lip a little, and of course lost a tire...but it was fun anyhow! Enjoy! second round

Yeah it was fun, but you can bet your arse I won't be doing that again once I finish Yeller this time around.
Although the crowd did pick me to advance to the finals after that round, since you are only allowed one set of tires I was DQ'd and had to be a spectator.

Jeff, your truck sounds pretty bad ass in the video. What RPM were you running to? Are you still using that engine or a new one?
Every time I see pics of your truck before you tore it down I wonder why you did. I think one of my trucks looks close to that nice and I'm just wishing and working on the rest getting there...

Joe, it was revving to around 5200 RPM...but I was throttling up and down to please the crowd a little.
I had my 350 in there at the time, it was a nice engine that was making in the neighborhood of 350 HP. It has a pretty wild cam and I was running cut-outs on the exhaust (you can see them in the video)...so it really did sound nice. My truck was given the name Yeller by my friends mainly because of its growl..and color too. I have since sold the 350 to help pay for the 454 I have in there now. I wish I could have kept the engine. I had it 4 years...raced it, did the burnout contest, drove it all over, and NEVER had to add oil to it except for its normal oil changes! The thing never let me down.

Russ, I blew the chord off, then it popped on the hot metal! LoL
I only dorve it 100 feet or so, no way in hell am I going to lay on smoking hot metal, in front of 100+ people, and change a tire while I hold up the contest. I dod not damage the rim at all.
