Question for those running ECE 2.5" drop spindles....
How is your turning radius? I got the front end put back together tonight, and it seems that the stops on the ECE drop spindles are so big, it looks like my turning radius has all but disappeared.
Of course, it still needs the rotors installed, then I can tell for sure. It just looks like it stops a whole bunch shorter than the original spindles.

Are you doing a disc conversion? I see that on mine it widened the track by an inch or so...that makes me think it could lessen the turn radius.

I didn't notice any turning radius problems on any truck that I installed ECE spindles on.

Ditto on what Tx Firefighter said. I have the 4/6 ECE kit and notice no difference from stock.

Thanks guys. It must be my depth perception acting up since there is no steering parts installed yet (tie rods, etc.).

I was thinking the same thing when I installed my Chassis Tech spindles, I guess that the true test will be when it all goes back together and we can test drive them.

belltech spindles
I have used 73-87 Belltech spindles on 67-72 applications in the past,... and have noticed that the "track width" increased, but not the turning radius. I don't know if it's the spindle or the fact that you are "flattening out" the lower a-arm when you install short springs. (making the track width wider) Just spindles,... I think wouldn't change anything. Sorry for the rambling,... and the fact that I don't know about ECE's spindles.

Now that I have the steering parts installed, along with a 72 P/S gear box, it takes 2.5 turns lock to lock. That just seems about a full turn shy of normal.

I thought it was just me but my turning radius sucks, although stock it wasn't that good to begin with. I've toyed around with the idea of cutting down the tit (for lack of a better word) on the spindle. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

EXACTLY! I don't have the wheels I want on it yet, so I'll probably wait until I get them to start cutting.
