i was thinking about getting a 4" k&n cleaner+lid assembly. i want to find a nice drop base that will fit. i hate having the air cleaner right on top of the carb, i want it to cover it up a little.

if i get a good drop base that will fit with my carb, i can run a 5"

if its a flat base a 5" filter will hit the hood when its closed.

no it won't. thats what i have and my intake is taller than yours as well, and i still have plenty of clearence. i wouldn't get the 5 again if i could do it over though. it just looks to big and goofy for me. i would go with a 3 or 4

I agree and they hate water too and in that spot it will get soaked when it gets wet out.

You need to mount it up on the fire wall where you put the MSD stickers and put the stickers on the inner fender well

how much is "plenty of clearence"???

i put my dads 5" k&n filter with a flat base and i'm not sure, but i think it came out with a dent in the top that wasnt there before:p
