Hey pals:-) , I need help with Pioneer CD wiring I.D..
I have used Pioneer single CD player , Model DEH-43 to install in this 84 and I found that the manual that was in the glove box wasn't even for a pioneer, Gee !what a surprise. anyway A manufacturer tends to keep the same wiring throughout their line so anyone with a Pioneer player may be able to help me . I'll list the wire colors and Only a few still have ID one them and I'll list that. I need you to fill in the blanks for me . Thanx in advance , DAVE
red=ACC orange=battery+ blue= remote control(not!) solid black= prolly ground. but not marked =? black w/green stripe=? green w/red stripe=? black w/gray stripe=? gray w/red stripe=? solid gray=? gray w/black stripe=? solid green=? green w/black stripe=?

Well I tried.
Go over to Pioneer's site and see if you can find yours. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...6_2128,00.html

Most of those wires SHOULD be the same... the ones where you have: solid green and green w/black stripe... ect will be your speaker wires. Black Is always ground
But if you can get power, ground and switched power, you can pretty much safely figure out the rest of them by trial and error

I think the green/blk, grn, gry, gry/blk are the FOUR speaker wires and the black is the common speaker ground to all and not the radio ground like i thought, what has me puzzled is the grn/red, gray/red, and the blk/gry. DAVE

The blue wire is the remote wire (also used for power antenna or switched power to an amp.). I am pretty sure the rest are speaker wires.

I doubt that any newer stereo uses the common speaker wire. Hooking it up like this is asking for disaster. The new amplification methods require each speaker have it own positive and negative wires. As said, the blue is a remote turn on wire used by an external amp. Most manufactures use a color scheme similar to the gray(+) & gray/black(-) for one speaker, green(+) & green/black(-) for another, green/red(+) & black/green(-) for a third, etc. Hope this works for you.

By your listings, it appears that you will have a common ground for speaker, but it will be a common for the rear and a common for the front. i.e. - green/black one side, green/red other side with the solid green wire as the common ground. Same would be for the greys.
The solid black will be the ground for the radio as you first suspected. The blue your remote wire for power antena or an amp, and your red and orange are your constant and switched power. |
