temp sender

Hi all.....just replaced my temp sender after a wire repair...and now after my engine gets to operating tempature...the gauge pegs out. If this sending unit was for a truck with lights verses gauges...would this happen? Thanks.....

It sounds like you may have a bad sensor. Does it read while warming up?

One for a light could do what you are seeing but the engine would be hot for that to happen as the light is turned on when the engine is hot.
