Question 70 Antena

I bought a direct replacement Antenna off a vendoe in Fla. about 1 1/2 year ago. He said it was a direct rplacement. I installed it and I notice the base is not the same configuration (The base is off about 1/16-1/32 so the hole is visiable at the base). It does not correctly cover the mounting hole completety. What gives. Was I given bogus info from this reseller? (This would be the second time) It did not have to look 100% identicle to the factory antenna but I wanted it to fit like original. This was before I got to know Paul or Wes...Never had any problems when buying parts from them. Did this guy in Fla. mislead me or what? Your input is appreciated.
