1991 chevy 3/4 4x4 5sp trans
I think my tranmision on its last legs. It hums or wines when its being luged. I would like to now if they last for awile like this or shuold I start looking for a new one?

Huh. MY 1991 1/2 ton 4X4 5speed is on its last legs, too. I'm currently looking for another one. The manual shows an expensive assembly jig necessary for ANY maintenance, but I've seen under-$200 rebuild kits on ebay...
It took 194,000 miles to kill mine. How many miles did yours last?

220000 kms and still going. I just don't want it going wile i'm out in the midle of nowere. 250 bucks and how many hours ?
