I just finished installing the 2" drop spings from Summit racing and I'm not completely satisfied with the outcome.

The distance from wheelwells to ground was 35,5" before the drop springs and now it's 34,8", so not even 1" of drop achieved....

Any similar experiences?

Ps. There's no engine on the truck, could that be the reason for such a lame drop?

If your original springs were very worn, you wouldn' notice very much of a drop.

I think the springs need to settle in and without any engine, there is little weight to settle them in to.

I run Summit 2 inch front springs in several of my trucks, including my current one.

Likely your original springs are sagged over time.

Wait till the engine is back in to judge.

The original springs are from Diesel Truck.... Since my truck was originally equipped with a diesel engine, if that counts....??

I'm thinking of taking one round of spring off.
Or is that a absulutely insane or something?

Don't do it man.

I guess you're talking about Summit brand springs, the bright blue ones? Those are actually "Ground Force" springs if you look real close. A good quality spring.

Put the engine in it first. You'll be happy with them. I have 2 sets in use right now, one in my green truck, see signature, and the other in my Blazer too. I have lowered other trucks with this exact spring in the past. I wouldn't keep using them if they didn't work right.

I just measured the original spring at the highest point 13,5" and the Ground Force 2" drop spring is 12,5" at the highest point...

I'm having a bit of an moral crisis here... The other side tells me to cut the springs a little and the other side says no.

I think I'll have to sleep over the night and decide tomorrow.

Dude, you're screwing up.

Put the freakin engine in it first. Then, if you want more drop (you won't) you can cut it.

I'm telling you, I have 2 trucks right now with these springs in them. You will be happy. Put the engine in first and decide before you ruin an 80 dollar pair of springs. You can always cut them later, but you might be sorry if you act too soon.

the height of the unloaded spring has nothig to do with it's actual ride height.The coils could even be the same length,and still achive 2 inches of drop.Wait til you get the engine in it.

The coils on the drop springs aren't as strong as the stock coils.

So I'll be leaving them as they are now... And wait until the engine is in there.

I have 2" lowered spring & 3" drop spindles. I dont have an engine it my truck either & it sits like a 4X4. Dont worry, wait for the engine...corn

By the way, Summit springs are actually Ground Force brand. Good stuff.

I aswell have those "Ground Force" 2" Drop springs on my truck. Like others have said, they're good quality, and DO drop your truck 2". On mine, before I put them in, it didn't sit level...now, with them in, it sits perfectly level. Trust me, get the engine in there, and you'll be singing a different tune.

The rear of the truck looks real good now as I installed the 4" drop in the rear a few weeks ago. It looks like a drag car now in the start of the quarter mile race with it's nose up.... I'm anxious of getting the motor in - someday....
