what auxilary lights are you using?

im wanting to mount a pair of lights on my truck and i know its going to be PIAA or KC. im looking at either the driving or pencil/spot beam. i like the look of the 5-6" lights. what is your experience with what works good. i dont really care about price because i get them wholesale anyways.

I'v heard good things about KC's, thats probably what i'll put on my truck, plus they have a 23 year limited warranty.

I had one set of KC on my truck and wanted more, I dropped $20 bucks on Autozone fake KC's. Those matched perfectly and worked just as well. Twenty bucks sure is less than $100 or $150. APC has them at Advance Auto for $20.

There all the same, just with a different sticker on them. Why buy the $150 set to go out and break, when the $20 pair will be cheaper to replace. Also you can cheat and put KC's covers and rock guards on then, they fit perfectly!

I'm with Joey...

On my other truck, I put a pair of 6" from Wal-Mart for 15-20ea. They came with 100w H3 bulbs, but those came out and I put 150w in them. THey worked great!!! I never had a problem with them, and they were way way cheaper than KC's, PIAA, ect...

Pics of my lights, on the left are real KCs, they are upteen years old. KC has changed there design now, the look identical to the others. In the middle are APCs I just picked up from Advance Auto for $20 a piece, come with a switch and harness too. On the left are Bajas I got from AutoZone for $50 for the pair, came with a wiring harness and switch. I of course made my own wiring harness using 12 ga wire and relays and a better looking switch. Also, as an added bonus, the APCs gave me a free year subscription to Streettrucks and Super Compact. One with each light I bought. Of course I used the street truck sub and sent another street trucks to one of my buddies, why would I want that import **** in my house anyway?! All the lights are 100w H3s, so I could change the bulbs to 150w if I want.

This might be a little late, but I using some cheap Wal-mart brand just like SWEET7T. They are the "Ralley" brand that look like the KCs and were maybe $17.00 each. I wired in a relay, so it wouldn't be much of a drain, hooked it up to a lighted toggle, and I have never had a problem with them. My favorite part about them is they came with plastic hard covers that don't hold the moisture in like some other covers I have seen. Oh, I just put a set of Edelbrock stickers on the covers to hide the name.

I mounted them on some push bumbers that I picked up for cheap. That way I didn't have to drill a hole in the bumper.

Has anyone placed these behind their grill on a 81-87, similar to these?

Here are a pair of PIAA's I have on my Yukon. They have a high and low beam and are very bright.

After years of being a KC Daylighter fan I picked up a set of Hella 500's for my Cherokee, they are now on the front of my Suburban - I like the light output a whole lot better then KC and the design makes them easier to mount.
