driveshafts

im shopping around for a longer front driveshaft and maybe even a rear driveshaft. you guys know of any good places?

also, i bought a raised steering arm that wont come off, anyone got any tips about that too?
the front leaf sprigns are on and it looks ridiculous. the 33s looks like donuts and the additional 4" of lift in the front makes it look like my truck is a towing an imaginary load. thanks, bob

Around my area we have a couple of driveline shops, around $250 for a new driveshaft.
As far as the steering arm, budweis had an excellent pic of where to strike the stock steering arm to get the cone washers to pop out. I had to heat mine with a torch and strike it at the same time to get the arm off. If this makes sense: you strike the steering arm perpendicular to the studs.

Bob, Parting it out. I thinking the rear might end up under my 70 GMC. That is if I can find some tires that will measure about 33" tall and fit on the 16.5x6.5" rims I have. The cab will get some TLC and replace the cab on my GMC and I have an 8' stepside bed I'm putting on the GMC. The core support and grill from the C30 are going on the 71. I should have some pics of it this weekend. I'm converting it back to a Chevy.

BOSS, i dont know if i want to sell it yet, i cant really guarantee if the piece is straight and it definitly doesnt look pretty.

Jim, hurry up and post those pics. do you ever plan on painting your trucks? i kinda like them how they are, mine was alot more fun before paint. i could relax whenever i left it in a parking lot.

Bob, The intent to paint is always there, but if it's going to cost me anything and doesn't add to the function then it is on the back burner. I've got too much other things I want to do.
