Exclamation LED taillights for stepside (need opinions)

Howdy,
I have received some e-mail asking about stepside LED
taillights, like we have developed for the fleetside, and
burbs. I have looked at the 67-72 Stepside light, and it
will be difficult to do them with that housing/lens. It will
also not be as impressive.
However I am going to look at a 60-66 stepside housing
and lens, and see how they measure up. Here is a picture:

IF I MADE A SET FOR THIS, would you switch to the 60-66 style, for the sake of having LEDs?
I need opinions!!

I'm moving my lights to the roll pan. Trying to clean up the looks and aerodynamics.

I would need to see test set mounted up on a nice truck but my imagination tells me no.

I`m thinking if I wanted L.E.D.s and wanted to retain the original lights,I`d convert the"inards".The original lights are basically generic,so the right non-original lights don`t look out of place. But,original is original.So,even"hidden"L.E.D.s in original housings ain`t original.

I would like something that can be molded into the fenders or stake pockets or a custom bumper. However, if I do decide to run lights in the stock location I like your idea better the the stock housings.

Personally, I think the pre-67 lights look funny on our trucks because we KNOW that they didn't come that way. If 67-72 lights were made in LED, I would buy them, but most likely not pre-67.

Agree with Putter's comments. If I decided to dosomething other than stock, it probably wouldn't be anything that hangs from the outside of the bed.

I agree as well. If I was to put something on my truck other than stock it would be some kind of frenched taillight or in a rollpan....personally I don't think pre '67 would look good on my truck. I would buy a LED set for my truck if the price was reasonable.

Well, I will keep a watch on this, and may just make a set for
the 67-72 step. I don't know how nice it will, especially when
compared to the stuff we have now.

If the truck is a sanitary custom,I like Pre-47 lights.Ever see Model-A lights on a Stepside? The vintage lights are smaller and although they`re hangin`out there, they are less massive, more stylish, and although they didn`t belong on our trucks, they do belong on a Stepside. That`s the charm of a Stepside, timeless style.
