"Quieted down A bit and it seems to cool better now". That doesn't sound to enthusiastic. Was it worth the money?

I cant say it was worth the money. The clutch and the fan were Christmas presents.
 Its worth it.

The whole reason auto makers went to fan clutches was for increased fuel economy.
The clutch will disengage when needed, freeing up some horsepower, and mileage too.
