Hey guys my heater/ air conditioner quit working. Everytime I move the switch up and down it does nothing. Does anyone think the switch is bad?How often do those go bad? Or would it be something else? I checked the fuse and it was ok. Any comments would be grand. Thanks

I assume when you say you move the switch you are talking about the fan switch. I had the same problem in the hot Texas summer. I changed the switch and the fuse, but I think my problem had to do with the ground wire that is attached under the hood. Below is a link to the thread where I asked the same question. I had the same problem last year. Like hook'em said, check your ground wire to your blower motor out under the hood, passenger side. Mine was corroded up to the point I had lost my ground. The motor uses a case ground, so if your brave enough...turn on the switch and ground it out, see if it'll start running. Or just check where the wire attaches to the firewall and clean up both sides. Good luck! This isn't a good time of year for no heat.

also check and make sure your ground wire is still grounding the blower motor. Mine quit on me as well but al it was, was the ground

Get a 5 dollar test light and check the circuit from the power source to the blower motor. That way, you can see if it's the fuse, wiring, switch, motor, blower resistor, or what.

hey guys, I got to check the ground and it was just fine. Does anyone think the motor itself is bad?

To check just run a jumper from hot post of battery to blower motor post.
