Does your daily driver have over 300hp?

the truck do you drive daily, does it have a high performance motor? how is it working out driving it daily? Can you put a fair amount of miles and useage on a built motor?

I am running a LT-1 and 4L60E. Reprogramed computer, supposed to be pushing between 330 and 340 horsepower and getting 20 MPG.

Not in my truck yet but years ago I used to run around in a 69 roadrunner w/440 6 pak and 4spd/4:11's. As I was building the car my focus was to be a 12 second daily driver and yes I made it. It ran mid to high 12's with street tires and closed exhaust.
My wife even drove it as a grocery getter all the time.
A more direct answer would be, yes/absolutely it can be done, you just gotta deal with the gas mileage.

My daily driver makes 300 hp and 520 ft-lb torque, but it is just a plain old stock motor.

My daily driver has a turbocharged 6 cylinder with 17:1 compression ratio. It runs 32 pounds of boost and gets 20 miles per gallon every tank.

Horsepower is about 320 to the ground and 700 ft/lbs of torque.

mine is a built 385 making 475hp and 515 ft lbs, and yes it does well. Just tuned it a little more yesterday too. Gas mileage does suck at around 7mpg, but it gets there really quick.

I was pushing 410RWHP in my last truck, drove it everyday for 3 1/2 years @7-10MPG and put almost 65K on it. Guy who bought it is still driving it but not everyday(can't afford the gas!)
The 454 going in my sub is mild, putting out around 345 RWHP. When it was in my dually, it got between 10-12MPG around town(had a nice T400 & 4:56 rear).

It's not that much ot reach 300HP.You could go for a 375HP 396,be all stock, and get fair mileage, and still have streetability.

My daily driver puts out ~ 400 hp (325 to the wheels)

It's an inline 5, turbo charged 1993 Audi S4 quattro, and it's loads of fun in the snow. (custom Exhaust Manifold, Turbo, Porsche Fuel injectors and MAF sensor, custom ECU software, and Silicone turbo hoses....FMIC too come next)

If I keep my foot out of it I can get 25 mpg in the city and 30 on the highway.

Too bad our snow melted away today....

My '01 Silverado has the 8.1 gas engine rated at 330 HP (I think). It's fun to drive, but 9-10 mpg hurts. Oh well, I traded it off awhile back, new one actually came in today. I'll get it next week. I'll post pics of it when I get it.

my 69 has, im guessing, somewhere close to 370ish... it is ok to drive, but the huge cam murders the stock torque converter unless i put it in neutral to stop. the tires grab really good though, it torques the engine into the fan shroud before it'll burn em... (bad engine mounts). it only gets about 5 mpg though, maybe more by monday when the carb is rebuilt

My truck is close to 300hp with a 700R4 with 3.73 rear. I average about 14mpg and get a little over 16mpg highway. My truck runs great and only turns 2300 rpm at 75mph....how in the world are you other guys getting 18 and 20+???????? What's the secret?? I know a new silverado ex. cab only gets about 18 highway. I guess no emissions control crap makes the difference??? I only have a 10 mile drive to work, so it doesn't bother me too much.
