I thought Suburbans were longer than trucks?

so then it would be safe to say that when i convert my crew cab to a short bed i will be cutting off 14" and end up with a wheel base of 150.5" right. is my logic right or am i retarded?

I think so, but I don't think the 14" is all cut in one spot. Some behind the cab, some at the end of the framerails (I think).

well if the wheelbase is a difference of 14" then i will have to shorten the frame behind the cab that much to make the wheelbase that of the short bed...150.5" right? i think that i am also goning to have to cut some off the rear as well. but isnt the short and long beds the same from the wheelwells back? thanx for the info.

14" out of the middle, and 4.75" off the end will get you to a short bed. I did mine by actually putting the bed on the truck, cutting the rear off so it fit right there then measuring and marking the cut in the middle.

No problem, its really not that hard. Just remember you will have to get new parking brake cables, a new rear brake line and a shorter driveshaft. I got my brake line from the junk yard, but you could cut and reflare yours if you wanted. I dont know where you will get cables though, I ordered some shortbed ones, but I dont think the offered the CC in a shortbed so you might have to cut your cables and put a new end on them.
