On my parts truck the neg. cable goes right to a bolt on the passenger side of the engine block.

On my daily driver they put in a later model 350, so they replaced all the brackets for the accessories. Therefore, they ended up tying it to one of the accessory bolds that connect to the block (I think the alternator).

Basically, its the same connection.
