Welcome to the board from Tennessee! Where are you from? I'm also looking at a 4/6 kit. I have 4 inch drop springs in my rear right now. I was told that using a 2 inch block I could get 6 inches without buying more springs. I don't know if it's true or not. There doesn't seem to be anybody in Suspension to answer my question.
There is a post in Suspension showing the rear undercarriage on a 4/6 drop. You'll just have to look around.

Welcome.

Call Early Classic and talk to those guys about your concerns. They are one of the few companies nowdays who will tell you straight without just trying to sell you stuff. Those guys lower trucks for a living, so they have experience to back up their claims.

I buy pretty much all my stuff from them for better than 10 years now.

I agree! I just bought over $2000 worth of stuff from them. They told me what I needed, I got it and it all bolted right on and fit like a glove.

so is a 4 6 drop the drop that will center the wheels in the openings giving it a uniform reveal between the wheel and wheel well?

I too just bought a 4/6 kit from ECE and was impressed with the quality of the stuff.

roj2323 - the reveal between the tire and the fender lip depends on you overall tire diameter

A 4/6 drop would not be a problem on a daily driver. No worries about speedbumps or jacks.

My 68 is 6/8 & I have to slow down for speedbumps (but don't drag). I only had to remove the 'swivel' pad on my floor jack & I can slide it under the front crossmember w/o issue.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

i realize that but if the axle is centered in the opening the tire size shouldn't matter.
thoughts?

Well, they put some 1 foot tall speedbumps in around here. I'll take some pictures, I'm never going over those things. No one in their right mind would, most normal cars bottom out on the things. Someone started a petition to get them removed.
