I have both a High volume manual pump, and the Holley at the gas tank.. I have had too many electrics go bad through the years driving down the road with No Backup..

As far as the Electric goes, Buy a Switch that goes into your oil galley in the block. The Pump will not work if you loose Oil pressure and your engine will die. It's wired from your ignition through this switch, then to the Pump.. I believe you can buy them to shut off ( or start working) at different oil pressures, The one I have allows the fuel pump to work only above 40 pounds of pressure.
