Well most of you old timers should know my truck by now.......but here it goes.
Mine's a 67 K10 SWB. The chasis has finally got rolling with a transplanted 44 up front, and 14-bolt full floater in the back out of a 76 GMC 3/4 ton truck. The first complete motor is a 355, and the one in the garage is the basis for an eventual 383. 4:10 geared. 465/205 with a Range Splitter from Advance Adapter so I can take it over the road with 27% overdrive. Lets see, the truck will have an aftermarket AC. Buckets from something, everything will be plumbed in stainless steel. blah blah blah.........one of these days, I just wanna' drive the dam thing!!! See ya' Brian

Mine is a K10, Cheyenne Super, short box 4X4. It is now a boulevard cruiser. Now before you give me a hard time realize I have done my time tearing up rigs. Started with my dad's 67 chev 4X4, followed by tearing up his 72 chev 4X4. (This is when I fell in love with these trucks!) I owned a 75 renegade jeep with a 304 after that followed by a 79 chev 4X4 and an 85 GMC 4X4. When I ran across this truck 10 years ago I had to have it. Replaced all the rusty components (floor boards, cab corners, rockers, etc) stipped it down to the frame, new engine, trans, etc. Took me two years and too much money. I get it back from the body shop for the second time this saturday (he fixed a few things he missed the first time). Its factory two tone, Hawaiin Blue/White with blue houndstooth interior. When I get 100 posts I will post a picture. Right now I have 32's on a stock suspension. Plan to raise it enought to fit 35's. We'll see.

I can vouch for Doug's 71. Its a show stopper. Looks to be fresh off the showroom floor. I don't think I have ever seen truck as clean and well put together. I thought I had a nice truck til his was sitting beside it in the driveway. Its a beautiful restoration. Great job Doug, and hope to see your avatar soon. Jeff.

Guess I should have included my truck in this too. Mine's a 69 Blazer. Was originally a CA truck but it has been sitting in Auburn for the last 20 years. It has a 3spd in the floor that I'm going to replace with an SM465/NP205 combo. It has never had a rear seat, but I will add one and then restore the rest of the truck to original (minus the green paint) It will be midnight blue with parchment interior. It already has a 4inch suspension lift, 35X12 on factory slots and a non running engine. Wish me luck, Jeff.

'69 K20 4 Speed LWB. Working on getting her road worthy at the moment, Replacing Steering Box and Power Steering Pump. Will be swapping 4.56 Eaton Rear with a 3.73 Dana 60 as soon as the rebuild is done. Also have plans to swap Rockwell Transfer Case with an NP205 and installing one piece drive shaft. Haven't decided on wheels yet, but leaning toward 35" mud tire.

I replied once with my wants, now I'll post the have no choice but to do plans:
Gas tank replace (small hole in filler neck under grommet) got replacement from RANDY70C-10 Put in radio, 6 months without one now. Buying one from Luckymic34 Balljoints(will be done first RF tire looks like crap) NAPA of course. Last but not least; Rad core support(current one has nasty weld, battery corrosion and bent headlight buckets as seen in attached photo) bought one from BIG ORANGE, UPS delivered today. Look at pass side headlights, they look tired.

My truck is stock except the motor and retains almost all of its original parts. The body has only a little rust on the rockers, cab corners, and door bottoms. Pretty good since it was built in Tonawanda, NY and was a plow truck. Most of the specs are listed in my signature.
The axles are : 3/4 ton Dana 44 closed knuckle front Corporate full floater rear I want to lift it 2 or 4 inches with new leafs front and rear and throw 33's on it. My latest addition from the junkyard was a stock brushguard and a stock pair of tow hooks. They look sweet on my truck. I will try to post a pic.

71 gmc
Hey all,
Just bought a 71 gmc 2500 a few weeks ago. It has a 400 sm blk (not stock) th350. Has a 6 inch warn lift with 35x12.5x16.5's. I had a few questions though (bear with me, I'm kinda green to chevy 4 wheel drive suspension) how do I determine which differentials I have? How do you tell if it is a dana 44 or 60? How do you tell which transfer case? Got a hell of a deal on the rig though. Body is straight and runs real good, discs up front, headache rack, wheels & tires all for the low price of $3400!! This is a great site and some excellent rigs everyone! |

OK, what I have right now is a 72 3/4 ton Cheyenne 4x4 350/t350, 205-transfer case, Dana 44 front end, Eaton posi rear end, 4:56 gears, AC, Tilt, Tach all original. In not to good of shape right now, engine is in dire need of an overhaul, along with the tranny.
My plans are to replace the engine, and tranny with new. Have big plans for this truck, but my plans are way bigger than my pocket book?!?!

I've had my Camper Special about 2 years now and can't believe how much money and time I've put into this truck. It's been worth it though. I want so bad to take this thing apart and fix everything and restore it but I know that that would take a while and I wouldn't get to enjoy driving it. So what I've been doing is taking small things apart at a time and fixing them..t-case, axles, truck bed etc. Plans at the moment are to get the a/c working and converted to r134a. Next is to change the front and rear ratios to 3.54. Got a mismatch 14 bolt full floater with 3.73 and front d44 with a 4.10. Got the front drive shaft off so I can't make that mistake and engage it. Gotta replace those front springs soon too...
The next big ticket item is the body work. The truck is in good shape but has one rocker gone and the cab corners are coming through. To do this right the cab should be taken off but I'm resisting....the devil on my shoulder keeps tempting me though...he's a hard guy to keep ignoring. Keep on trucking.......
