Window regulator

I desperately need some advice on putting in a new window regulator on my drivers door on my 69 c-10. I took the old one out and when putting the new one in the damn thing would fall out of the track everytime I try to line the thing up and put the screws in. Is there a sequence of how this has to be done? It's driving me crazy. Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks!
Brian

What, exactly, falls out of the track everytime you try to line the thing up and put the screws in? I'll assume that the "thing" is the regulator assy itself that the window crank handle attaches to. Please define the "track" while you're at it for clarity's sake. I just pulled all four of my K10's window regulators out a couple weeks ago. 4 large phillips screws hold it in, IIRC. I pulled out the lock mechanisms and windows, as well. Nuthin' but rust left.

I always put the roller in the track on the door, and then the back roller into the window track, and roll the regulator up/down until it will slide into the notch in the window track, located toward the front of the window, just big enough to slip the roller into. You'll have to cuss, and kick, scream and try to figger out the combo on this one.
Then bolt up the regulator.

Sometimes it's a PITA.

Oh yeah. You got it, Brainchild. I forgot I had to move the window back and forth to get the rollers out of the window track via the little wide gateways in the track's slots. That's why the vent window divider comes out first to faciliate moving the window foward and backwards within the door opening. Brainf@rt.

BTW, the Chevy Chassis Service Manual has the exact steps listed. I don't have it with me while I'm writing this. I remember the manual says to reverse the removal procedures to install everything. Just in case you have one, Beatup69. And nevermind the terminology requests.
