Pay attention guys!! That is an ORIGINAL 1971 grille. I wish mine were in as good condition. It would be worth straightening, chrome plating, and re-painting the outer black band. It should fetch you a fair price for the outer grille alone!!

I sold one a while back on ebay (inner and outer) and it was a real challenge packaging it! The hard part was getting it to come in under the maximum size limit.
I wrapped the whole thing in bubble wrap, then wrapped cardboard around it. Due to the size limits, it was not possible to just toss it in a box. It was very expensive to ship but the buyer prepaid on his end (UPS) somehow and had it delivered to a business and he saved ALOT! This can be shipped but be prepared to spend about an hour packaging it! Bob

I have shipped a few 73-80 grills and dash pads with no problem, in fact, I just shipped a grill last night via Fed Ex for $15 from MN to CO. The best way to do it is to build your own box from scratch, making it slightly larger than the part you are shipping (measure the part(s) to get the size. You can get cardboard scraps from just about any store in your area for free, you just have to ask. Once your box is made, wrap it real good in bubble or foam wrap, tape the box up real good, and thats it. The box building can be tricky, but after one or two it will all make sense and get easier every time. Hope this helps a little.
EDIT: Here are the tools I use to make a box. Cardboard, sharp utility knife, black sharpie, tape measure, T-square, and clear packaging tape. Takes me about 30 minutes to make a large box like this.

'67 Chevy, check your local body shop. They get in lots of stuff in big boxes and usually throw it away.

As hobby67stepside said, body shops are an excellent source for large cardboard boxes...hell, you might even find the size you need already made. ![]()

Go to Sears or Walmart or some appliance store and ask to have some large pieces of cardboard. You will have to cut it down and bend it to fit. You can also purchase bubble wrap and cardboard from a UPS store, or Mail Boxes etc. store or Pak Mail store or some place like that.

I just packaged up a grill I'm selling on ebay. I made the box last night from 3 larger square shaped boxes. It took about 45 minutes. Attach all 3 together, then trim off what's not needed.
Shipping just the inner grill is alot easier than shipping the outer (or both together) When I shipped the inner & outer a while back, it was right at the maximum limit when bubble wrapped and covered in cardboard. I could not spare any extra room on that one. Fedex as far as I can tell, is more expensive than UPS or USPS. There is no way you'll ship these for $15.00 (even if you have a business account it's doubtful as it's got some weight and very large)
