New to Board and need help. 67 swbin New Mexico

Hello everyone. First time poster(now my second post) but I have been trolling the board for a couple of weeks getting some good info. Now I have a question. I’m working on a 67 SWB. It is a frame off and as many of you know you change ideas many times as you go. I have converted the Front drums to Disc. I used my original cross member and A arms. I got 71 ball joints and spindles. This all bolted up fine. Of course the ball joints off the 67 were not long enough. I had all new 67 tie rods and such. Of course they would not work either. Got the new 71 replacement parts and installed them. I’m putting in power steering also. The 71 steering gear box does not bolt up flush to the frame like the old steering box did. I guess I can put some kind of spacer in to get it square to the frame.(any suggestions would be great) Also the Pitman arm and Idler arm don’t look like they will match up to the center link(center link is rubbing on Cross member) any ideas. Learning as I go.

Looks like your doing the same thing I am on my 68 only I plan on using a 1969 1970
linkage to avoid the dimension problems you are running into. Mime will remain drum brakes.
The problem I have is the center link must be changed to a manual type for the PS box the hook up.
As far as the box not bolting up to the frame, you will find you will need to modify the frame be heating the spot and dippling it so the box lines up with the bolt holes with no spacers. You will get more from other members about this I'm sure.
Welcome you will get lots of help.

Welcome to the board. 8Door is right, you definately want to avoid using spacers. Your drag link question I cant help with, because I never ran in to that before.

You can cross reference these MOOG to cheaper parts, you need the K6096T idler arm and the K6143 pittman arm for a power steering 2wd 71-2 setup on a pre 71 crossmember.
