Well, for my truck, the security is built right in! Take a look at it closely. What you DON'T see is the clutch is starting to slip, the transmission shifter binds up every third/fourth shift, the tires are all balding, the rad leaks coolant, the damn carb is SO outta wack that it takes a small miracle to get the truck started in the morning, and that's only the start! Think of Adam Sandler's song "Ode to my Car" - okay well it's not that bad, but you get the point. The award winning paint on the outside is a bit of a deterence too!

The best part though is I can fix my damn truck any day of the week, with now computers to fight with!

LMFAO!! I love my truck!

1) Kill switch
2) In-cab hood release
3)Keep it just ugly enough that no one REALLY wants it

Heres what I use. If they get in your truck they still need a key to open your hood. Anything that makes it harder just might make them move on

what about lowjack? the tracking system. From what i hear it works real well...if you don't wanna shell out the money (like me) get somekind of sticker that says something like...Lowjack Equiped Vehicle. Most theives won't want to take the chance. I for one take the ugly and hard to start route...

I always liked those Grant removable steering wheels. Not sure if they are individually keyed or not, but another deterrent no less.

Go get a big HD boat/motorcycle kevlar chain, wrap it around a spoke or in around some wheel holes, and wrap it around the a-arm or axle tube.

I take the battery out altogether when she is sitting out unattended.

Need to get a hood lock for sure.

Put a wireless security camera on it from the house... Things are dirt cheap now, and you can set it up to only record when motion is detected. Some camera software has a notification capability, you can make it alert you when it detects motion.

For Security.

First, at home, I have enough weapons and ammunition to start a small range war. I'm not worried about it unless I'm gone without the trucks for several days. I can kill the fuel supply on the Cheyenne and I have a wire pulled on the Blazer. If they figure that out before my 75 lb, half pit half Akita gets through eating a bloody spot in their a$$ then they are braver than me.

Second, I try to never take any of my babies to public places where I cannot see them or where I will be for long periods of time. My wife drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and she lets me drive it whenever I want even though I never let her drive my toys.

Third, I am usually carrying either a concealed Ruger P90DC .45 auto or a Glock 19 9mm.

Insurance

All of my vehicles are insured for an appraised value so I can at least recover what I have in them.

I don't park my Lightning at the mall for example. Nor do I leave it parked anywhere for long. Something no one has mentioned, a line lock with a hidden switch, they may get it, but the first time they put on the brakes, that's as far as it goes

If you look on the 69-72 parking brake bracket right were the brake handle release is there is a hole, I use a master lock to lock the e-brake release mechanism. I figure that they can't drive it away with the e-brake on (at least not very fast). The lock hood and ign kill switch along with an alarm might just slow them down a bit.
