Removal of panhard bar... - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Anyone have any thoughts on removing the bolt that goes throught he rear-end housing and hold the panhard bar on? Ive got the bolts off the ends, but can't seem to get the thing to budge? is it some type of pressed thing or what?

I ran into that when I did my 3.73 to 3.07 swap. It was stuck due to being in there for 30+years. I gave it a tap with a hammer and it came loose for me.

ive beat on it quite a bit and it hasn't moved... which side did you hit? the end closest to the front of the truck or the other side?

Try some pb blaster on the threads and it should come loose then...

ive done that too.... even heated the darn thing up... i guess i'll just try hitting it harder.

I believe it was on the side closest to the front of the truck. It didnt take too much either.
