I'm currently running the original 235 I6 backed by a 3 speed on the floor, with 3:90 gear ratio 10 bolt eaton posi. On the freeway(or on back roads) she flys along at 65-70mph at about 2,800-3,000rpm's. She responds pretty well, and wants to go even faster, but I don't want to push it anymore than 3,500rpm's while on the freeway. Soon to be changing I6 & 3 speed out for a sbc350/th350 combo for more reliability, and for long runs.

I have a Chevy '66 C20, which is a 3/4 ton, it has 8 lugs all the way around. It also has a 4.10 rear gear - no fun on the freeway , but awesome around town. I plan on going with an overdrive in the future.

I have a "66 with the 351 V6, sm-420 and 3:54's. Just put 31" tires on it which helps, but I run it at 2500 on the freeway which is about 65 mph.
