F*n thieves!!!!!! I was on my way back to work and felt a slight vibration coming from the front of my K5. I got off the highway and pulled to a stop light (only two from work) and walked around the car and could see anything hanging down etc. Well I get about 50 feet from work and my damn wheel came off. I think they got 5/6 lugs off or loose because one wheel stud sheered off and the rest were jacked up because of the wheel wobbling on the studs. Messed up my wheel and some stuff in the front hub, damn what a pain. Ok Rant off just wanted to vent.

Argh, I hate theives... This is also the reason why I keep old steel wheels on my truck...

I was just thinking. In the last year someone shot the rear window out of my explorer while I was driving, Blazer was broken into and stereo was stolen and now this and I live in a real nice neighborhood outside of town! I guess I need to move out of the burbs ha hah

Glad to hear you are OK. I had the same thing happen to me going 60mph. Right rear wheel came off of a newly purchased Firebird (3 days). Heard it doing strange things for quite a few miles before it happened, got real squirly for a bit and took a few years off of my life.

As I tell people "Guess I didn't kick the tires hard enough"!

well as much as i will sit and commiserate with ya about the thieves , thank god you werent moving at a good rate of speed you could have been hurt real bad or worse. I know someone who was killed as a result of a tire that bounced over the divider and hit a car coming the other way. best of luck fixing the truck

wow i know how you feel man. Les schwabe a few years back cross threaded all of the studs and the weel fell off a week later.

Dang, that sux. Like everyone says though, at least you were not going any faster than you were and you are ok. Sux either way though.

On a similar note: Does or has any one replace their wheel studs? At work every year we have to replace all the studs on the service trucks. I know they are bigger trucks but when we get 30 year old Trucks driving around on origonal studs they can be in much better shape then 1 year old studs on heavier trucks driving over some rough terain.
