1955 truck
Hello,
I have just been given my grandfathers 1955 C-65 (?) grain truck. It has the 235ci 4 speed transmission, single rear axle. It runs well and I just got the brakes working (new master cylinder). Next I am going to restore the body and I need some parts if someone can help me out it would be appreciated. Are 1955 C-65 truck fenders the same as a regular (c-10) pickup??  I am really looking for both front fenders, as they are the worst things about the truck!! Also interested in other parts as well but will have to come up with list. Thanks in advance for any help.

I am going to take the lead here and say most of us are not familiar with a C-65 or the larger heavy duty truck line.
Provide us pics and share what you know, we are willing to learn! Sounds like a great project. |

Your use of the term C65 leads me to believe that this is a two ton truck. If it is a two ton, it is probably a 6400. Now, is it an Advance Design ('47-55) or a Task Force ('55-59)?
In either case, the exterior fenders between the smaller trucks (3100,3200,3600,3800) are not the same as the fenders on the larger trucks (medium/heavy duty). The medium and heavy duty trucks have wider fenders and larger wheel openings. These fenders are built to accommodate the longer axle and larger wheel/tire combination. Big truck fenders can be fit to smaller trucks, but...

just put the cab on a 1/2 frame and get 1/2 finders .I think that would fit

as said in the above is it a 1st series 55 or a 2nd series???? either way the front fenders ARE different, & also like what said above IF u can find a 1/2ton frame u can use it BUT u will have to use a complete 1/2ton front sheet metal. fenders, inner wheel wells, hood & i believe the grill are all different........joe

Hello,
Sorry I have not been back here in a few, but life has been busy.. I actually worked on the truck over the weekend and building a new flatbed for it. Thank you very much for all of your replies, and I will post some pictures very soon. To try to answer some of the questions that you asked; I was told it is a 2.5 ton truck. It has 14ft of frame rail extending past the back of the cab, dual rear wheels, 6cyl 4 speed. It is actually fun to cruise around in. Also found out this weekend that if you look really close on the doors with the light just right you can read Budweiser, along with some other lettering that has been painted over. Must have been a beer delivery truck at some point in its life.  Thanks again.
