Parting out 69 LWB GMC in Cleveland
Parting out 69 LWB GMC. I drove this truck into my shop in December. It is a Northern ohio truck and is simply not worth resto. All parts are fair game at best offer....there are 18 days of school left (i'm a teacher) and anything left over after the last school day goes to the scrapyard. I'll try to describe things best I can and will reply to inquiries about the condition of specific parts but due to the vast number of parts I don't have time to try to photo them all. There are not a ton of good parts.....as far as sheet metal the hood is the only part I'd call 100% solid. Some other parts would be fine if you have nothing and need something. If you are looking for something let me know.
This is a non PS/ non PB/ non AC truck Some potential parts of interest: 3 speed trans. glass all there and in good cond. recoverable and usuable seat radiator 6 lug 3.73 leaf rear usuable and functional tailgate Complete set of keyed alike ignition and door locks. Original radio....unsure of operation Front axle assembly is completely disassembled. Leaf packs are disassembled Steering column is functional but not a show piece. Truck has green interior and ext. I will try to get at least A couple of general pics so general state can be seen. Bed is good for patches only rotted pretty hard. Cab is bad. It's a truck, but it is ROUGH. Frame has been pulled and completely unriveted. If you need a bracket or a crossmember I probably have it and it's probably already sandblasted. I also have all brand new grade 8 7/16 bolts/washers/locknuts (100 qty) that were going to replace all the rivets. First preference goes to anyone willing to pick up parts but I will ship.......In short....GET IT OUTTA MY SHOP. Email to evracer@yahoo.com or PM me. |

Grill is fair with the exception of one kink right about in the center. It's not show worthy but it's not mangled either....I guess I'd call it farm truck condition. It's what I would call repairable. I would probably have to get you a pic to really describe it. It's good enough to keep, but if I were restoring I'd probably replace it.

Tailgate is solid and functional, But dented, slightly concaved, and rusted on bottom. Better than no gate at all and functional, but not a what I would call a resto piece. Majority of the parts of this truck I would label as "functional and better than nothing". This gal was a rusty but trusty. It is however original.

How is the windshield? I am possibly interested in it and the hood. I can pick them up, too. Also, how much for both? thanks

The cab mounts vary in condition, I know one is rotted beyond practical repair. If I'm not mistaken the other 3 are ok. The bottom of the cab is basically gone....I'm refering to the mounts that are riveted to the frame only.
Passenger fender has some structural rust in the usual places. It is a straight fender, front cup rusted and finger sized rust hole in rear cup. All glasses are good, hood is surface rusted, but good, solid and straight. 1969 GMC please email me as I have a couple locals coming to look at it.....that way I can let it go to the highest offer. I'll try to help you out the best I can. |

Radio is AM only, but is complete with knobs. Showing it's age, chrome is dull, not sure how it would clean up. Again it's still in the dash....If I get around to pulling it I'll bench test it....right now it's inop....but that's not to say the problem is in the radio.

no....I'm done....no time no place no money for it. My priorities have changed a little. Just spent a week in the hospital with a new disease that would probably keep me from getting it done anyway. My buddy is the original owner and he gets all the proceeds from the parts. If I get another it'll be already done.

Ok, I'm keeping notes here....anything with interest here I won't scrap. However, I have a couple locals that have expressed interest in some of the big parts and I want to focus on those first. I have to have the big stuff out of the shop by June 8. The small stuff can go with me if need be. One of these locals is potentially interested in a package deal so he gets priority.....past that it'll be first come first serve for the rest. Please keep inquiring......I'd rather have the parts go to other trucks than scrapped. I'm trying to make a list of stuff NOT to throw out.
Bert, yes I have those parts. Last edited by Stevonator; 05-13-2005 at 09:10 PM. |

Anyone else got a need for something? I'd prefer to see it go elsewhere than scrap. Making a list of interest.
