I use them on the rear of my 74 & haven't had any problems.
Like 1FaastC10 said, they increase the track width slightly which was one reason I used them. My wheels had a 6" back spacing & 5x4.75 bolt patter & I needed 5" back spacing w/a 5x5 bolt pattern. Don't just use spacers though. Use true billet adapters.
