I have a wiring Diagram that I have received from this board. So, thank you guys for helping me. Though, I don't feel confident so I have been getting quotes to do the wiring and it ranges from $2400 - $1100 w/out a new harness. So I'm going to start working on it this weekend. Here is my question:

Where or can you tell me how the lines run through a 72/blazer body/frame. I have pictures of how they are supposed to connect to lamp, cluster conn, fuse pnl, etc... but I would like to know where they are supposed to run w/in the body. Or is this just how do you want it to run through the body?

Also, if I do connect wires wrong what is the worse that could happen. Please specify what connection and to what it is that would be the worse outcome.

What do you mean by where do the wires run? The wires to the back of the truck run along the frame rails. I think everything is on the driver's side frame rail.

If you connect the wrong thing, you will probably blow a fuse, get a spark or possibly melt a wire. Probably obvious, but don't have the battery connected while you are doing the wiring. Just in case, keep a fire extinguisher handy, it can't hurt. The engine block, body and frame are your ground. make sure your ground wires are in place and you have good metal to metal contact.

I'm inept when it comes to electrical, and I've done a fair amount of rewiring in my '69. It usually makes my head hurt thinking about it after a while.

Wow, that's a LOT of money! I would just buy the harnesses if I were you!

I bought the two harnesses that make up the wiring in the engine compartment. They came with all the right connectors, all the right length and color too! These took me about an hour to install!

I've heard the painless systems are fairly fool proof. The wires are marked along the length with what they are for.

Moike, You could find a parts truck for a couple of hundred bucks and rob any wiring you need. You could also see where all the wiring belongs. B.B.

You won't shock yourself. You could set your vehicle on fire, but that's unlikely. Short

of doing that, I think the worst outcome would be making a bad connection that causes an intermittent problem, like no spark or something. Frustrating as hell! Careful work, and protectiing wires from rubbing and sharp edges should take care of that.

I would just spring for the new harness.... Just don't rush the job and keep a little fire extinguisher near by.. If you have any questions I am pretty sure we could help..

There are a few other companies that have wiring harnesses that are a little less expensive than the Painless. One of them advertises in the Classic Truck magazines all the time. They were listing a kit at $159. Sorry, I don't remember the name and I don't know if their product is as easy as the painless kits.

Sounds Like Im In The Right Place?? Any Diagrams Of The Steering Column For A '73 Sheyanne/20?? Bought The Truck And Never Had Turn Signals. Have Replacement Parts But No Clue What Order To Proceed With????? Please Help!!!!!

TWO73's, this is the 69-72 blazer board. think our vehicles are a bit different from the '73 up. Try the '73 up Blazer board.
