Did you build that? Very cool!

I've converted one to look like my '69 (lifted, but not nearly that big of tires) painted one to look like my '72, and now I'm working on a slammed 2wd. All are the diecast Ertl Blazers. The 2wd is a WIX (like that) I got off e-bay with no top for $4.

This is what the 4x4 susp was under, basically swapped chassis over. They both look better now,I don't think you could tow something with a truck that tall...The wrecker is die cast too..

The WIX blazers were/are all 4wd models made by ERTL. They were also sold as kits, JCPenney promos, and multiple others. The kits were painted red like the WIX. I've also seen them in Black (Penney's) and white (don't remember who that was a promo for.)

When you find the promo,I`ll buy it!lol Let us see it.Seriously,if you think about selling it,let me know.I like those customs, nice job.AMT had a Blazer kit(a few versions). In the 80s they made a monster version.I built one to mimick the one I had(except, mine had 37s not 48"Gators).It still came with the parts to build it stock.Likeyou,I`d have to get my hands on it.It`s up there in the attic somewhere.

There were a few. One is called "BOONDOCKER" and you see them every now and then on ebay. They can go for a mint. There were several others, but the names escape me now. The WIX blazer was sold as a diecast metal kit by ERTL. It is basically the same as the WIX truck, but it doesn't have the wix decals or the bank slot and keyed opening on the bottom.

"Thunderbolt One" was built by Ertil as well I think. I was a 1:10 scale with tractor style tread hard plastic tires, and I think it had a plastic motor cycle in the back?? Wow that was a long time ago and if I was to go through my parents attic I know I could still find that thing.

I called our local parts store because thats were my dad bought his a few years back.....they still have a few in stock so I'm going to buy one....heh

btw heres my dad's wix model

And heres what I'm going to do...I'm gonna take on of these wix blazers, lower it, still the dubz off of a dubz 72 swb, and then hopefully paint it a different color, white, black, or orange. Might as well put a big block in it too

We all need a model thread and have a contest on whos got the best one!!!! Cool stuff on here!!!!I remember when i was young we would take the general lee models and melt the plastic on them to look like wrecks and would put the paint in the top of a bucket of water ,like 6 different colors ,swirl it around and dip the models in it for custom paint!!!
