Goin to pickup a stepside bed tomorrow, gotta few questions

well I landed this stepside bed on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7976136808 which seems like a pretty good deal to me. goin to get it tomorrow, about 3 1/2 hours away. my question is about the gas tank. My 84 is on the drivers side and this one is for pass. side tank. I read in previous posts that driverside fender with gas aren't available but that my driver side tank and straps would work on the pass. side of the truck? If correct then I'm assuming to move my tank to pass. side I will need a filler neck specifically for the stepside and redo or get new fuel lines and wire to the gas gauge and thats it? seems like a pretty straight forward swap if I'm thinking right, If not somebody straighten me out.

I'd sit back, have a beer. Get out my hole saw. Have another beer. Put a hole in the drivers fender. Take the filler neck out of the passanger fender and move it to the drivers tank.

Well I'd look at doing it that way.

Congrats, that sounds like a real bargain. One thing that might trip you up are the plastic adapters used to mount the filler in the fenders. I believe they are unique to a stepper and are different from side to side.

My stepper is a driver side filler, I bought a set of fenders that were pass side and could never find the adapter. I finally found a drivers side filler so I could use my original filler.

I would check to make sure the adapters are there and ask the seller about them if they are removed. I picked up an extra tank that way on my first set of fenders.
