Question about vinyl upholstery - Can you redye it?

I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a product on the market that can be used to redye or re-color vinyl, for seats and such.

I won't get around to recovering my factory buckets until fall, but if I could change the color from blue to black, I would at least install them temporarily for comfort.

Appreciate any input as to possible products available.

Check with an auto parts store, like a NAPA store. Other parts stores may also have it. Usually comes in spray cans, like paint. Follow the instructions, or the vinyl "paint" will flake off. It matters how you prepare the surface....just like painting trucks.

The best brand that I have used is SEM. It comes in a spray can, and is around 10 bucks a can.

I wouldn't do the seat, not armrests. When the vinal flexes, the dye won't, and it will crack and peel off.
I did all the vinal in my GMC (except seat) and only the arm rests are looking bad after about 18 months or so.
