New Serpentine

Finally can say I am done! almost.
The Yellow Ogre with the heart of Black Magic is done for now.
Been busy the past few weeks putting in a HT502 with Serpentine system.
Well had it on the road today for a short 50 miles. BEEEUUUTTIIFFULL.
I used the stock cast intake from the old 402, Smooth pulls 21" vacuum at 55mph. Touch the gas and getup and go. I picked Black as it is not factory engine so no need for matching anything.
New Edelbrock fuel pump, reused the old 1411 carb. Still have to convert the airconditioning from the A6 to R4 compressor but that is outside my wrenching ability. I just need to add a electric fan to make sure it stays cool. I think I can fit a 10" fan as I only have 3" clearance from the pully system to the radiator.

that looks very nice. do you have a factory amp guage and how did you wire up the alternater.

I kept the factory amp gauge. I bought the pigtail cable from GM and wired it into the old harness. The new ALT. had 4 wires +Power output. Wired the "S" lead to the old white wire and the "L" lead to the blue. Then I wired the White wire to the red wire where the external voltage wire was and the blue wire to the brown wire. I am going to rewire the relay for the fuel pump as I have it setup to run through a bulb on the dash and if the bulb burns out the fuel pump will stop so I am going to put a false load on it also incase the bulb burns out. I just had to get it running. I have the fuel pump on a 10amp self resetting circuit breaker. I will probable do the same for the HEI to get the heavy wire off the fuse panel so I don't kick it all of the time.
What took so long was the GM Serpentine setup cam as a kit but the Gen 6 block has 7/16 tapped holes in the front and the kit comes with 3/8 bolts. They the space would not allow a big electric fan so I had to use a 16" flex fan. I might be able to fit a small 10" fan in the lower corner as you can get them about 2 1/2".

Awesome ochre.. you have the same problem as me ... trim on cab and bed dont line up ... i think cab mounts will fix that ... might be wrong

When I re-did the wood bed I used 2x6,2x8 treated lumber and it was 3/4 " thicker than the old white pine that was original. so the bed sits higher. If I get around to it I will rip some new 2x's and put it back down where it was. I just like the thick wood when I carry things I keep loose 2x4's in the bed and nail them in to hold the load from moving. I wouldn't want it falling out the back.
