Hunting Crews Original Owner/ Ravenna Ohio??

Ok- I am trying to contact the original owner of the crew....He is listed on People Search still in Ravenna Ohio...Anyone near there?

The guy is listed as being 96 yrs old, so he was no youngun when he bought the truck new on Sept. 25th, 1972.

Any advice when contacting previous owners? I am not hoping to be as lucky as the guy who found his orig. tailgate. ( although mine is gone as well!! )..I am just hoping for more of a paper trail....Original pictures would be nice too...

Hey Crew,
I found the previous owner's name and address in the glove box of my truck when I bought it; he had sold it to a used car lot, he was the second owner, so technically I am the fourth owner, but I don't consider the used car people as being an 'owner';
anyways I wrote a letter to the address of the second owner and explained to them I had recently purchased the truck and asked if he could give me recent mechanical history of the truck, and also listed my return address and email address;
the guy was amazed that I wrote to him and was more than willing to give me the history of the truck since he purchased it from the widow of the original owner;
don't know if this will help but it is worth a shot
Tim

you can go to zaba search but it costs like $25, but it does work. it tells you all of his past residences and neighbors. so if you cant get ahold of him you can call his neighbors and see if he is still around. thats how i found my hit and run driver.

Blue I did a search for "free people search" on yahoo and I came up with a site called melissadata.com and I put his name and state in...It came up with his exact match and it listed his age..( probably DL information.)

I am hoping to score at least an original sales order or something...It appears the guy still lives in the same place he did when he bought the truck in 1972.

I sent him a letter yesterday...I will keep you posted as to my progress...

Crews, Good for you! I am always going to try to contact the original owner from now on based on my previous experience. Even if I only get a picture of the truck when it was new it is worth the effort.

I spoke to the original owner's widow on the old blue longhorn, she was pretty impressed that it looked so nice still.
We should have some members in that part of the state...

Good luck. I have been trying to locate the original owner(s) of my truck but so far have nothing to go on. I don't think that they would like to see it altered so much anyways. The original owner of yours would probably be glad to see it getting the attention that it deserves.

If I can be of any help- let me know. Ravenna is about 20-25 minutes from where I live, and KSU is nearby, so I'm sorta familiar with the area.

I lucked out when I got my 72. The original owner was my uncle. It nice to be the 2nd owner of a 33 year old truck...
