Power locks install question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I took the power lock actuators out an 88 chevy truck and Im about to mount them in my doors. What/how did you all hook yours up? Im thinking maybe I need to make an extension?
THanks for any help and pics would be excellent.

I used a universal kit and they come with a rod that clamps on the existing door lock rod. John
