Transmission-which Would You Choose??
OKAY YOU GUYS,
WELL I AM NOW GETING READY TO BUY MY TRANS. I HAVE A 383 STROKER WITH 423 H.P. & 415 TORQUE. I WILL NOT BE RACING, BUT I WILL WANT TO BE ABLE TO THROW DOWN WITH YOU YOUNG GUYS. I HAVE 3:73 GEARS WITH 4 WHL DISK BRAKES. MY QUESTION IS THIS I AM NARROWING MY TRANS. DOWN TO 2 OPTIONS: ![]() PHOENIX TRANSMISSIONS (2-YR/24,000MI) WARR. OR BOWTIE OVERDRIVE TRANSMISSION THE PRICES ARE ABOUT THE SAME TO ME. I WILL BE INSTALLING THIS MY SELF. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHICH YOU ALL PREFER & I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KNOW FOR THE ONES THAT DID IT THEMSELVES HOW THE INSTALLS IN GENERAL WERE??? ![]() ![]() RODSTORED-72 |

I would go with the Bowtie overdrive and make sure they know your application. I'm sure that its in their best interest to do everything to ensure the 700r doesn't fail. I'v bought a few parts from them lately and have been pleased with their customer service. Ask Bowtie if they will match the warranty of the competition. The install of the 700r was not a problem at all.
Is the Phoenisx transmission also a 700r?
