New member, new project

Some pics of my new project. The previous owners used a gmc cab because their chevy cab was in bad shape, paint is not to bad if you like red, a little rust here and there but nothing major. The interior has got to go and all is for sale(seat, door panels, visors, dashpad, headliner, all matching and in good shape) maybe it will match someone elses truck a little better I was really looking for something not finished, maybe not even running, as this one is in decent shape and I wanted to go a different direction with a buildup. A good price has me with a red truck that I want to be silver and rodded....we'll have to see how it ends up.

Nice truck, what a great start. At least the rest of the interior is in great shape other than the stuff you don't like.

Other than the carpet I like it the way it is, but than again I'm partial to red and that truck would go great with my Farmall's!!!

I think that is probably in better condition than most people's trucks on here, including mine, (and I consider mine nearly finished LoL). At least the red interior will go pretty well with silver paint I bet.

Good buy and sweet truck

Thanks guys, the compressed pics really make it look alot better than it is It's so nice to have one again. I had a 72 swb that was restored for my first vehicle when I was 16, and out of all the cool cars(in my mind at least ) that I've had or have, that 72 got more attention and response than any of them. Now that I've had this truck for a couple of weeks and have been driving it everyday to see if any problems are going to pop up, I can't go out in it without someone making a nice comment or asking if it could be bought....that's a good problem to have I'm not familair enough with part prices to say what the entire upholstery package is worth, I was going to take my chance on ebay and hope the market would get me close to a fair value. I don't want to make out on the stuff...I just want it out...so any fair price would be considered. The seat has some wear on the driver side of course, not anything but a slight wearing of the material but it doesn't look bad. Besides that it's all in good shape(it does have the matching visors and headliner as well.
I've already found so many answers on here without asking a question, it's great to have an active forum, especially when you're a newbie in a hobby!

Welcome from sunny...errrr...rainy Seattle! Nice start. It is far easier to change the color than to do all the engine and body work over again...trust me on this one!

Hey from Alley Bama

Welcome, it does look good as is, but I've also got a hankerin for a silver truck, I wanna make mine match our 78 Silver Anniversary Vette, silver over charcoal with blue interior to match as well. I have my eye on a short fleet 68, what color interior you thinking?

Dude that sounds exactly like my story.. good deal on a straight truck, red, painted mine metallic grey. Even looks like some different reds depending how you look at it.. just like mine. I am jealous though.. you got AC!!

Welcome BTW.. Awesome truck!!
