buckets

I have a set of 72 blazer bucket seat cores with no console on ebay right now and they are at $290.00, the buy it now was $275.00. and the final price hit $407.00. I would think those truck seats will hit $500.00 anyway.

I emailed him about going to see them, he won't give up the reserve ( I'll never understand that logic)

He says they came from a 1970 pickup.
I thought 67-68 was specific and the 1970-72 seats were a little different?

Arn't you glad no one took the "BUY IT NOW" option? They could have gotton it for $290.00 and all it takes is one small bid to do away with that option.

Also I do not understand why some of the people will not tell us there reserve price. I have never put a reserve on anything I sold on e-bay. If I have to have a certain price, that is what I will put as my starting price. Why give e-bay more money for a reserve? IMO

Having a reserver is a good idea if you don't want to let it go under a certain amount.
Starting an auction for how much you expect may limit the amount of bidders, which means less people to bid against each other

People act like reserve is a gov't secret
I figure, if I knew his reserve on those buckets, It would determine if I took the 45 minutes drive to go see them or not. Guess not

Yes, but when you have a reserve and somebody really wants the item bad and the bids do not reach the reserve then even although you are willing to pay a big price for the item you do not get a chance to get it because the reserve was not met even though you would have met it or more. I am not sure if the reserve is say $500.00 and you bid $600.00 does e-bay only show like $6.00 if the starting bid is $5.50? Or would the reserve show met? I have not bid on too many reserve items.

If the item is at say $2 "reserve not met" and the reserve is 500 and you bid 600 it will go to 500 "reserve met".

If it was a slow item that he thought might not sell then you're right, but I don't think he's going to have to worry about scaring off a bidder or two by not revealing the reserve. One ebayer I know that is full time said the activity of people bidding to find the reserve sets the tone for the rest of the bidding after the reserve has been met. If you reveal the reserve folks will stalk it to the end and there won't be much activity....if that makes sense?!?!

That does make sense on an item like this which is sure to get some action
