77 chevy stepside
hey everybody! an old friend of mine is GIVING me this 77 stepside. The doors are shot, as is most of the body, but the frame is usable. The spring hangers need to be replaced, and the bed (wooden floor!) is wasted, but it's all there. I love those old style front ends. My wife is even excited about the old truck, although it is a monster project to say the least. I have a decent cab on my 3/4 ton plow truck, which I could use, and 14 bolt rear, and dana 44 front. I also have a 205 transfer case, and the TH400 out of the plow truck to use. I think I will just tear the stepside apart and start with the frame. I really want to build a 4x4 crewcab stepside, especially with four kids, but I would have to find a decent crewcab truck to start with, which I haven't seen too many of. Anyhow, there's plenty of good parts there if nothing else for no money, can't argue with that. Have a good one everybody!
