HEI upgrade
Anybody upgraded there hei with msd,pertronix,proform etc. I'm looking at the ugrade or tune-up kits with new cap,rotor,coil,dust cap,module,etc. Was wondering if anybody has one of these setups and how they like it..

I put in the Proform kit. Only difference it made was with the timing advance. Couldn't tell any difference due to the hotter coil or ignition module. When I have less to do I will probably get a new distributor from MSD. The quality is a lot better than Proform.

When you get around to it, there are lots of HEI upgrade links, pictures, tips and pointers in the "FAQ" forum. Look inside the "FAQ index" thread that is stuck to the top of the FAQ forum.

Pay attention to the wire change reference FAQ. The stock dizzy wire is not large enough for the MSD.

I would like to upgrade mine. More spark is good.
What is better the MSD "box" or the MSD dizzy replacement??
