Re: Running Rough

What kind of carb. Need to take it to someone and let them set your choke and fast idle.

Re: Running Rough

Ditto. The thermostatic choke is missing on mine and requires the same "massaging" until it's warmed up. BTW anyone know where I can get one (and the little linkage for it) for a Rochester 2GV? The yards in H-town have nothing this old.

Re: Running Rough

69TowRig, any parts store should have the bimetal spring for the choke (if that's the type you need). Linkage can be fabbed from coat hanger wire in a pinch...

Re: Running Rough

Here's a place, scroll to the bottom and you'll see the chokes.

They'd have this type? Auto parts stores carry more stuff that I thought they did then.

That link had this picture but there are no links to what/where/who, etc.

BTW I never meant for this to become a post jack. Back to topic:

I just replaced all the ignition components (save for the coil) in the past few days, it is running not much better, but playing with the choke helped immensely, so I am sure it has to do with that and my idle mixture.

sr67 have you been able to check that out?
