X or H Pipe - Need picture
I'm doing my dual exhaust this weekend and need a pic of the underside of a 73-87 truck. I've seen em here before, but can't find one. Would be great if it was for a 4x4 long bed.
I'm thinking about a X or H pipe and need to see the underside - I'm at work and won't see my truck for 3 days. Thanks for all your help. - Dave

Re: X or H Pipe - Need picture
Both Brandon (79big10) and Mike (Swervin Ervin) have X pipes, hopefully one of them will chime in.

Equalizes exhaust pressure. Less work on the engine.

Capt. Looks like I may get away with the H pipe right off the headers and in front of the transfer case (kinda under tranny) and still be able to route everything. I'll post pics of the install either way. BTW borrowed a camera and sped over to the truck at lunch for measurements and pics. Wasted a long lunch, but, I feel better about things now. Thanks for all the help. - Dave

Re: X or H Pipe - Need picture
Here's a old link to my setup before the new mufflers and megaphones were added but the X pipe is still there. http://www.geocities.com/cjhicks1/exhaust.html A buddy had a 83 Blazer frame with TC and he added a H pipe by going after the TC and over the DS with the H pipe.

79Big10
Thanks. Nice set up. How was the interior sound with the downs under the bed?

Re: X or H Pipe - Need picture
Interior with flowmasters you could hear the "tinny" sound. With the aero chambers it's really nice. The megaphones helped alot to with turning the sound deeper. Also with it being a long bed it's a bit further than a SWB would be. One thing with a X pipe is that you lose some lope sound since the exhaust is balanced out.
