Shifter renew question

I just pulled the shifter handle out. I'd have to say that once I figured out that only the outer collar has to turn it was a snap to take out. Anyway there is a roll pin at the end of the shaft. The hole that the roll pin passes through looks sloppy ( the outer collar ). Should that be a tight fit? Shoud I ream it out for a larger OD pin. will that tighten my shifter play up?

That fit should be tight. At least mine is.

Go ahead and put a larger roll pin in. I don't know how much play--if any--it'll take out, but it's worth a shot.
