As per Mor Tec, 3914678= 68, 302 327 350
3782461= 64-66 camel hump, 160/62cc ports, 62cc chambers. Are these numbers what you have or what you are looking for?

Re: Casting #'s

That engine number was used on three different engines.

Year number size hp Low High carb vehical
1968 3914678 302 290 290 2/4 Camaro, Z-28
1968 3914678 327 210 350 2 car & truck
1968 3914678 350 295 295 2 Camaro/ChevyII

The heads are
1962-67 3782461 327 1.94 1.5

So if you got these numbers off an complete engine with heads, chances are the engine is the 327.

This info is from http://www.nastyz28.com

Re: Casting #'s

Thanks Woodridge and John. It's for an engine I am looking at. Seller claims its a 327 out of a Camaro. It sounded right but I just wanted to make sure.

John, if I'm reading that website correctly, it says the block is rated up to 350HP right?

Re: Casting #'s

That's the same block that 's in my truck (Stock 327, large journal 2 bolt mains)

It'd be interesting to run the numbers on the crank. That could be a 302 if its a Camero block.

Re: Casting #'s

If it is the factory camaro engine, it was rated at 295, if it came out of chevy car or truck, it was anywhere from 210 up to 350.

Re: Casting #'s

I'm considering dropping a 327 in my truck (it currently has a 283) since that is what it originally came with. And if I can't find a truck motor, I'm gonna try and find something close.
