Re: How about this trade????

I totally agree with the trade, fleetsides look sooo much cleaner and tend to bring more $$ especially if the floor is real nice. Heck I bought a swb steel floor only that is about as perfect as you can get for $450.00. I think you did great!!!! now let's see some pics....

Re: How about this trade????

I prefer the wide beds. I have a swb wood floor that I tore apart to redo that is suppose to be on the truck in my avitar. I had that step side just layin around had a good wood floor in it so I put it on so I could haul some junk off

You may be right, and it was a little more than what I wanted to pay for it too, but as of right now including the $450.00 floor I have a grand total of $489($34 taxes, and title) in running 67 small window swb fleet, that needs all new metal everywhere, but the truck was given to me by my nieghbor of 30 years wife since he has gotten alzhiemers (sp) so bad she had to put him in a home. If will kinda be a labor of love, since I grew up across the street from him and he has always been like a grandpa to me.Here is a pic of the bed floor in my 69 swb that I used to pick the floor up.

Re: How about this trade????

short steps rock...that's just a fact. OK,OK, it's a fact that I think short steps rock.
I will say, there is nothing wrong with a short fleet... they just aren't quite as cool as the short step.
Also, 72 was the last good looking step side as far as old trucks go. The 73 - 87 looked funny, and anything after 87 is too new to be called old IMO...in a hobby reference anyways.

Re: How about this trade????

Yes... you are absolutly right...which is why I did say it was my opinion. I guess I came accross a little opinionated...by fault, sorry.
while I would love to have one of everything in the 67 - 72 series.... it would be a toss up on what the next one would be.... a 2 wheel drive blazer, 2 wheel drive burb, or a short step... it's really a toss up. (It would NEED a 68 nose on it though...that or 69/70 GMC nose)

Re: How about this trade????

From a guy that has owned both short fleets and steps and a blazer, I love the looks of the step-side best. I love everything about the step-sides except until it comes time to wash it. The fleet sides take less time and you do not have to worry about water under the curls of the bed rails.

But like it has been already stated: To each his/her own!

Dean

PS: Enjoy your new bed. Good score!
