Drive Shaft Safety Loop

Hey I know if you run slicks you need a safety loop and I just got a magazine called Super Rod and some Pontiac guys have got a killer loop. You don't have to drill holes in your floorboard, it attaches to your tranny mount. Here is the website for the loop www.chiefmanyhorses.com it looks killer and no holes in the floor. The price in the magazine was quoted at 50 bucks not too bad of a price for a little insurance.

I don't think that would be NHRA legal...doesn't the rule book say bolted to teh frame or floor with 3/8 inch bolts?
I dunno, it's been quite a few years since I looked at the book.
Hmmm, you think they'd make us but one on for each shaft? It IS for safety.

In the article they saidpeople have been running them for three years and no one got throwed out of tech. Rules specify loops be constructed of 1\4" thick steel, 2 " wide loop being located 6 "to the rear of the tranny u-joint, and using grade 8 hardware to attach. It just looks so much easier and better than the old one I was going use.
